Anger is a deadly sin: A poem

Anger stirs a troubled sea,
Hurting you and hurting me.
It clouds your thoughts, it steals your peace,
A bitter feeling that won't cease.
Don't hold tight to anger's chain,
It's wrong and brings you only pain.
Anger's quick, a thoughtless spark,
Leaving wounds within the dark.
Be patient, clear, and kind instead,
These gentle virtues, gently led.
Don't react, stay calm and still,
Meditate, and bend your will.
It takes courage to be kind,
To see with open heart and mind.
We're all the same, on this earth we roam,
Loving-kindness brings us home.
No anger means no enemies found,
Just fellow souls on sacred ground.
We travel on, side by side,
With understanding as our guide.
