Bakarid, Bakra Eid, Idu’l Zuha or Eid al-Adha is being observed as 'Holy Festival' of 'Feast of the Sacrifice' on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah month ( August 1, 2020)to commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Prophet Ismael as an act of obedience to Allah's command.
It is said that before Prophet Ibrahim could sacrifice his son, Allah was pleased with the devotion and provided a lamb to sacrifice. As a festival, it signifies the spirit of sacrifice / qurbani in human life to keep the spiritual compass right. Ritualistically, the festival is marked by sacrificing an animal such as a sheep or a goat.

“On the occasion of Idu’l Zuha, I offer my greetings and good wishes to all fellow citizens, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters. Idu’l Zuha symbolizes the spirit of sacrifice and amity which inspires us to work for the well-being of one and all. Let us all reiterate our resolve to follow all the rules and guidelines prescribed in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. On this festive occasion, let us share our happiness with others and promote mutual harmony”.
