Book mentions Lok Jumbish training & its director on use of teacher made toys & low cost activities

Dr Lalit Kishore, who has worked as Deputy Director and Director of Lok Jumbish Project in Rajasthan from 1993 to 1999 on Deputation from Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan was responsible for developing competency based curriculum and teacher training with crossing cutting value of gender and social equity.


Noteworthy work was done in the area of process based education of the subject of environment studies from grades 3 to 5 which incorporated low-cost toys and science activities. Teachers were trained through workshop mode to transact the curriculum. A supplementary book ‘Activities with Tongue Cleaners’ in Hindi were brought out for low-cost science activities.



The Indian Book Chronicle makes a mention a teacher training in which Dr Inshore demonstrated the activities with low-cost and waste material for science learning.


The workshop was informally inaugurated by Mrs. Chitra Chopra, Secretary Social Welfare Govt, of Rajasthan. ... films produced by UNICEF and Masoon...had a session of making toys with waste material (conducted by Mr. Lalit Kishore of Lok Jumbish).. She went on a trip to Ajmer, saw a magic show presented by Maharaj Singh (of Vihaan) and later on painted and exhibited their art skill out in the open.
