Commonwealth Association of Science, Technology and Mathematics Educators (CASTME) has invited entries for Findel-Castme Awards in partnership with Findel International Education Resources and Philip Harris. According to CASTME e-Newsler Number 23 issued in April 2024, the deadline for the submission of reports is 31st October 2024.

Aim: Encouraging innovations and sharing best practice across the STEM disciplines and demonstrating the importance of STEM to local environments, schools and communities.

Preferred submissions: Reports on evidence-based educational projects, which address the social or human context of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Entrants: Any group or individual involved in any form of STEM education in the widest senses, formal or informal, within societies can enter including pre-school, Primary or Secondary. Additionally, Tertiary education projects can be entered from school, college, university or community based organizations.
Number of awards: There are three to five awards are available
Report structure: The submissions should outline the following
~Aim and objectives of the project
~Form or nature of project
~Target audience
~Location
~Organisers
~Means of delivery ~Scope of reports: Reports should be based on personal experience and should include the following
~Substantial evidence of teaching, learning methods or other educational work.
~Photo evidences, graphics, tables, etc. to illustrate work.
~Reference to sources of information or illustrations such as published papers, journals, magazines and books as well as organisations such as resources centres, science centres, libraries and museums should be made where applicable.
Evaluation criteria: The projects will be judged by a panel of experts against the following criteria with the winners to be formally announced at the UK based ASE conference in January 2025:
• Increasing STEM awareness in the everyday world.
• Improving standards of literacy and numeracy
• Originality
• Creativity and Inventiveness
• Practical usage
• Social relevance
• Contribution to society, Positive effects on gender issues
• Demonstration of effective project management
• Clarity and a high standard of presentation, organisation and structure of project report.
Note: CASTME and Findel International Education Resources reserve the right to publish entries in part or full and proudly display projects at conferences and events around the world and therefore cannot return submissions to the entrants.
