Holding and manipulating drawing utensils or implements along with drawing stick figures is a good way to improve modeling process of illustration by the teacher as well as child's fine motor skills, visual perception and general cognitive skills along with that of language development.
It has been observed that drawing with initial known or contextual structures such as letters of English alphabet J and I provides immediate visual feedback to assist development of motor skills and cognitive skills of children.
