Go for women's inclusion, green economy and care society, urges UN on International Women’s Day-2024

International Women’s Day (IWD-2024) is going to be observed to urge the world community to invest in women for accelerating their progress by ensuring 'women’s and girls’ rights across all aspects of life.' According to the UN, this is the only way 'to secure prosperous and just economies, and a healthy planet for future generations.'

The UN, holds that gender equality remains the greatest human rights challenge which is the most compelling 'imperative and cornerstone for building inclusive societies' since 'progress for women benefits us all' along with making a shift toward 'public services and social protection.'

"The current economic system exacerbates poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation, disproportionately affecting women and marginalized groups. Advocates for alternative economic models propose a shift towards a green economy and care society that amplifies women’s voices," holds the UN while urging funder to support feminist change-makers

The campaign theme of the IWD this year is 'Inspire Inclusion' to emphasize the need to understand and value women's inclusion to create a better world with 'a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.'

"To truly include women means to openly embrace their (women's) diversity of race, age, ability, faith, body image, and how they identify. Worldwide, women must be included in all fields of endeavour," adds the UN.
