HERON BIRD POEM On silent legs, so long and thin they seem, A graceful bird, with neck that bends and sways, Ardeidae, by still waters gleam, In marsh and mud, where life forever plays. The heron waits, a statue purple, grey, Or snowy white, against the reeds so tall, Then swift, a strike, and prey is swept away A master's move, preventing fall Watch them wade, these beauties calm and bold A timeless story, in the wetlands told.
