International Day For Monuments and Sites : Hampi is heartening - Collage & haiku

The International Day For Monuments and Sites / World Heritage Day is being observed on April 18 in 2021 to enhance awareness on the importance of the diversity of cultural heritage and its preservation.

This year's theme of the observance is 'Complex Pasts: Diverse Future' to urge people of all the religions to give out the message of solidarity for preserving heritage sites.

According to UNESCO, the ancient monuments and buildings are world's asset to be protected by collective effort of world community.

The observance is coordinated by the International Council on Monuments and Sites.

Here, I mention about my write up on the World Heritage Site of Hampi in Karnataka that provides glimpses of second biggest ancient medieval-era city in the world which was published as "News from Karnataka |Page 1| merinews"

Additionally, I reproduce a collage and four haiku on Hampi.

Hampi - past era

With all frozen mysteries

Of wondrous vistas

Magical Hampi -

Medieval wonderland -

Monumental past

Vitthala temple -

Musical pillars create notes

To make you soulful

Warrior, art lover -

King Krishnadevaraya

Created heritage
