International Workers' Memorial Day 2026 will be commemorated on Tuesday, April 28, highlighting the importance of psychosocial risks and promoting healthy work environments.

This year's theme emphasizes mental health by tackling issues such as stress, heavy workloads, and psychological harm in the workplace, encapsulated in the slogan: "Remember the dead – Fight for the living". Individuals engaged on social media can utilize hashtags like #IWMD26 or #DayOfMourning to share their experiences and advocate for workers' welfare

Students as study workers with schools as study-work places: A poem

Tuesday, April Twenty-Eight, Twenty Twenty-Six,

A day to remember, to fix.

For those who worked hard, and met their end,

A moment of quiet, a message to send.

Not just the jobs that lift and build,

But all the work, by hearts fulfilled.

Students in class, learning their way,

Are workers too, in their own play.

Classrooms are spaces, where minds take flight,

But stress and worry dim the light.

Heavy loads, and feelings low,

Can make the learning start to slow.

So let's make our schools a safer space,

For every student, in every place.

Protect the heart, protect the mind,

Leave the worries far behind.
