World Sparrow Day is celebrated every year on March 20 to help people understand that house sparrows are disappearing and to encourage their protection. Started by the Indian Nature Forever Society in 2010, this day points out the dangers from city development, pollution, and loss of homes, urging everyone to give food, water, and places to nest.
New types of buildings have caused many nesting spots to disappear, and things like pesticides and electromagnetic radiation have really hurt their numbers. This day is recognized in more than 50 countries, including places in South Asia and Europe, with the goal of keeping the "chirp" alive, according to the Nature Forever Society and Highland.
Activities for this day include putting up bird feeders, making nesting boxes, and spreading awareness. To help, we should set up bird feeders and water bowls on balconies or in our gardens. Planting native, bushy trees can give them natural places to nest, and we should avoid using chemical pesticides in our gardens,
