Jiddu Krishnamurti Quotes on Falsehood

  • Falsehood is the veil we wear...To see the false as false is the beginning of truth.

  • You cannot directly search for truth. Because a conditioned, prejudiced, or fearful mind can only manufacture "truths" based on its own limitations, any active seeking will only result in an illusion.

  • The only logical and actionable step is to be simply aware of what is false in a choiceless, objective manner.

  • When you strip away the false, truth simply exists in its place.

  • Till the false is seen as false, truth is not. When you once see something as false which you have accepted as true, then that very perception brings freedom

  • To see the truth as truth, and the false as false, is the greatest gift.

  • If I want to find out what truth is, not knowing what it is, I must be able to see what is false. If I do not have the capacity to perceive what is false, I cannot see what truth is. So I must find out what is false.

  • What you have learned through books, through the say-so of others, is not real; it is only repetition, and what is repeated is no longer truth.

INSPIRED POEM ON FALSEHOOD

Falsehood builds on what we're told to see,

A phantom built for you and built for me.

Conditioned thoughts, a faded hue,

And whispers of what isn't true.

No grand pursuit, no chasing light,

For truth appears, a sudden sight.

It dawns when shadows start to fade,

And illusion-veils are unmade.

When lies we've held, both deep and fast,

Illusion's grip, a die that's cast,

When habit's chains, and masks we wear,

Are seen for what they truly are.

No simple fight, no stark divide,

Just truth revealed when lies subside.

Falsehood fades, a passing shade,

And then the honest light is made.

Then truth arrives, a gentle breeze,

In understanding, brings us ease.

Not far away, not given or told,

But in the clarity, we hold.
