Manuscript of the Bhagavad Gita included in UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register of 2025

The UNESCO has been creating compendium of world’s documentary heritage under its Memory of World (MoW) since 1992 with with the aim of “guarding against the collective amnesia, calling upon the preservation of the valuable archive holdings and library collections all over the world, and ensuring their wide dissemination” so as world's outstanding documentary heritage of universal value.
Manuscript of the Bhagavad Gita has been included in UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register of 2025 for nurturing the consciousness and philosophy of life in the Indian subcontinent to become of the total 570 entries. According to an AI Overview on the subject, the National education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes the incorporation of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into the curriculum, and the Bhagavad Gita is a key part of that emphasis with aim to integrate the Bhagavad Gita into curriculum in order to promote a globally relevant and culturally diverse learning experience to students.
