May Day (May 1) remind us of that equitable distribution of resources and returns is the right way to honour labour and workers as well as avoid human tragedies like the present ones global conflict, tariff wars and dirty power politics in which the worst sufferers are the migrant workers, petty traders and farmers.

May Day, also called the Labour Day is an annual day of celebration of the labour movement and its achievements. It has its origins in the labour union movement, specifically the eight-hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest, informs Wikipedia

Mind it that 'labours are the ones who build a nation; rest all only plans it.'

Here is a non-poem dedicated to May Day

NON-POEM

We – the people

Have ceased to be humans.

We are dehumanized

We have become parasites

Worst than any virus

We have fallen low

Even a virus has started

Ruling us.

Real culprits are -

Materialism-n-Globalization

Competition-n-Privatization

Greedonomics -n-Conflicts

Iniquity -n- Seclusion

Isolation -n-Exploitation

Human eats human

By living beyond needs

By making obscene profits

Off the labour and workers

Off the suffering of farmers and small traders

Off the helplessness of deprived
