Message to Dominant Global Community

on International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples. 9 August:

A Poem

POEM ON TRIBAL VOICE

Six in a hundred, across the land,

Tribal voices, a helping hand.

Keep your distance, let them be,

Their ancient wisdom, wild and free.

Unique cultures, rich and deep,

Connections to the earth they keep.

Respect their ways, their songs, their art,

A vital piece in nature's heart.

Don't exploit, don't take away,

Their heritage, day by day.

Their land, their rights, must be defended,

Their future safe, their spirit mended.

Don't call them "less," don't call them "weak,"

Their strength is clear, the words they speak.

Respect their difference, understand,

A better world, hand in hand.
