The International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace is celebrated every year on April 24 to reaffirm the principles of the UN Charter, which promotes resolving international conflicts through peaceful and collective efforts since 2019. The aim of this observance is to encourage and maintain the values of multilateralism, international cooperation, and diplomacy. United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres emphasized that the Charter serves as the "moral compass" for fostering peace, enhancing human dignity, promoting prosperity, and upholding human rights and the rule of law.

The UN highlights the importance of being open to dialogue and collaboration for achieving peace. We need to strengthen the three pillars of peace and security, development, and human rights. It is essential to intensify efforts to address complex global challenges like climate change and regional conflicts through partnerships instead of unilateral actions, while adhering to the principles of consultation, inclusion, and solidarity.

Multilateralism: A Gentle Call for Peace

Let voices rise, a common sound,

Where understanding can be found.

No single path, no lone decree,

But hands joined, working to be free.

Three sturdy pillars, strong and deep,

The promises we vow to keep.

First, Safety's shield, to guard each home,

Where fear no longer makes us roam.

Then 'Progress' shared, for all to grow,

With seeds of hope, we watch them sow.

And 'Rights' for all, a truth so clear,

No one unheard, no one held dear.

Let us not stand in separate lines,

But weave our strength through shared designs.

For warming earth, for lands in strife,

Partnership breathes a vibrant life.
