Short Note

Important AI terms that a prompt engineer should know include: Algorithm, which is a series of steps that a computer follows; Machine Learning, or ML, which is about how AI learns from data; and Natural Language Processing, or NLP, which helps computers understand and work with human language. Another area is Computer Vision, which allows computers to 'see' and make sense of images.

Additionally, there are other key terms like Large Language Model, or LLM, which is a type of neural network trained on a lot of text data; Hallucination, which is when AI chatbots mistakenly give out wrong information with confidence; and Alignment, which refers to how well an AI's goals match those of its creators.

The Prompt Engineer's Quest: Couplets

To build with AI, a quest must start,

With key AI terms held close to heart.

First, Algorithms, like recipes so clear,

Instructions followed, banishing all fear.

Then Machine Learning, wisdom from the deep,

Where data whispers, secrets to keep.

NLP, like magic, unlocks the tongue,

So computers understand what we have sung.

Computer Vision, eyes of steel and code,

Pictures understood, a heavy load.

The mighty LLM, a giant's brain,

From words amassed, a pouring rain.

Beware Hallucinations, stories spun,

Falsehoods whispered, cleverly begun.

And finally, Alignment, true and bright,

That AI serves us, with all its might.

Master these tools, and understand their core,

The Prompt Engineer unlocks the digital door.
