Restore posture, movement & physical functioning to normal for students: Physical Therapy Day

Each year, the World Physical Therapy Day (September 8) is being celebrated with the focus is on the role of physical therapists in the management,rehabilitation and treatment of people who were affected by Covid-19.


The observance was launched in 1996 by 'World Physiotherapy' with an aim to further the physiotherapy profession in order to improve global health along with raising awareness regarding the contribution physiotherapists make to society and enabling people to be remain physically active, fit, and live independent. “Structure without function is a corpse,” says Karen Warren.



In schools and with children with special needs, physiotherapy recommends that posture correction and habit of keeping it right with physical therapy the basic contribution of educational institutions. It is said that the medicine can help 'to add days to life' whereas physical therapy can help 'to add life to days' by enhancing function and performance along with preventing injury. Joerg Teichmann has rightly said. “Rest is not the answer, activity and therapy help healing most.”


For schools, the message is to restore posture, body movement and physical functioning to normal for students with Joerg Teichmann's advice which goes as follows,

“Each body is different, therefore each rehabilitation must be different.”
