Reviving and rehabilitating index finger and thumb micro muscles for grasp and movement improvement

One may use a small comb or a tooth brush for reviving and rehabilitating by rubbing the index finger and the thumb of the dominant hand by the sides which is a Swedish technique. But, never the top of the thumb should be rubbed, since it can damage further the tender and fine muscles or micro-muscles.

At least a staggered 5-hour treatment under the guidance of therapist and care giver may given to revive fine motor muscles for rehabilitation. Often, revival and recovery of fine motor muscles and movement is ignored and attention to paid only for gross muscles' rehabilitation post-injury or for physical therapy of children with dysgraphia.

In the inset pictures, a child with dysgraphia has been given physical therapy with a comb-rub to improve pinch grasp, wrap grasp and tripod grasp.
