The objective of this initiative was to prepare the parameters for a themes-based learning package with day wise micro-leaning elements.

The methodology consisted of ‘research and development (R&D)’ with a procedure and action plan. The procedure consisted of a review of existing curriculum, an in-house focus group discussion coordinated by a pedagogue with six stakeholders (duration: 4 hours); formulation of curriculum framework (1 day) and exemplary micro-leaning material for one learning episode (2 days). The outcomes of present R&D initiative were development of age-appropriate ten competencies to be acquired by 50-hour learning package for each group consisting of micro-learning or episodic lessons with activity sheets, worksheets and practical work in real situation and community interaction.

The transaction of learning material was envisaged in three stages as teacher directed learning followed by group learning, individual practice and real situation application. The outcome of the focus group was the concept paper for writers to be oriented to prepare leaning packages for three age groups, teacher-training module and learning resource manual.
