Roth Teej Jain Festival: An Acrostic on 'ROTH TEEJ'

Roth Teej is celebrated on Bhadrapada Shukla Tritiya by the followers of Jainism by eating only one single grain-made thick bread or chapatti called ‘roth’, once during the day.



The festival is a reminder that material wealth is not important and gratification of senses leads to strife and sorrow.

O: Of gratification of 
T: Tongue and taste to gain true
H: Happiness.

T: Taking simple one-grain thick bread or roth and
E: Eating with curd-turai rayata
