The book “Investigatory Projects in Physics” published after a project by Dr Lalit Kishore [1] is being cited by researchers in science education and other documents such as Class 12 Physics Investigatory Project” by Shahz [2].

“There is a need to provide experiences to senior secondary level students in the form of open-ended experiments through investigatory, exploratory and discovery projects since the prescribed laboratory practical are closed ended or verification types,” holds Dr Kishore.

He adds that often, an investigatory project uses of the scientific method consisting of identification of a problem, defining and delimiting the problem, proposing a potential answer as hypothesis, gathering observations or data; analyzing data to draws conclusions in the form of accepting, rejecting or modifying the hypothesis along with suggesting further work

Both the books mentioned herein are the guidebooks for the teachers for helping students formulating and conducting some investigatory projects
