Shakti—The Pulse Behind Existence and Divine Power

In Hinduism, the Feminine Divine, also known as the Sacred Feminine or Shakti, represents one of the three principal forms of worship alongside Vishnu and Shiva. The core spiritual goal of Hinduism is to rediscover the God and Goddess within ourselves or to balance the masculine and feminine divine energies, as noted by this blogger in a post on scratchmysoul.

Devotees of Shakti Maa widely believe that during Navaratri, two divine energies—one male and one female—should be recognized within, with the understanding that Shakti embodies the true essence of energy that drives divinity.

Here is an ABC poem dedicated to Shaktism.

A: All creation and the energy in the cosmos are animated by the Feminine Divine as the Ultimate Being.

B: Believes in the purification of body, mind, and spirit.

C: Creator of the cosmos, who is the force behind all actions, material existence, and life.

D: Doctrine of inner potential for creation.

E: Embodiment of energy, creation, and dynamism in the Cosmos.

Over the years, due to the prevalence of male dominance and patriarchal societal structures, feminine values and virtues have been diminished. There is a pressing need to revive these feminine qualities and accord them the same respect as masculine virtues to achieve gender equity.

Here is a Poem on Shakti as Feminine Divine.

Shakti sleeps, a quiet hum,

Inside of you, till you become

Aware of it, a light so deep,

A promise whispered, secrets to keep.

It wakes the new, a tender start,

And heals the wounds within your heart.

It feeds your spirit, makes you bold,

A story waiting to unfold.

So breathe it in, this hidden might,

And shine your truth, a guiding light.

Let kindness bloom, a gentle art,

And mend the pieces of your heart.
