Social pedagogy is a comprehensive educational approach that integrates principles of social psychology with pedagogical or learning theories to close the gaps between education and social care in the classroom. It emphasizes supporting the "whole child" in a classroom viewed as a community of learners, with the teacher acting as a facilitator of learning.

This approach considers the classroom as a network of relationships, focusing on building and safeguarding these connections as a prerequisite for learning, which often results in improved academic performance, seen as a measure of educational quality. Therefore, the essence of social pedagogy is rooted in the relationships among various stakeholders, prioritizing genuine and empathetic connections to promote wellbeing, happiness, and social inclusion for effective learning.

Facilitators and learners share the same social environment, diminishing traditional hierarchies to empower learners. Social pedagogy highlights the importance of the facilitator's mindset and ethical stance, transforming pedagogy into a creative art that encourages experimentation and innovation in learning designs, rather than adhering to a rigid and mechanical approach which is a common stay.

Educators engage with students' everyday experiences and experiential learning, recognizing daily situations as significant learning opportunities.
