Song of Salutations or Vandana to Open an Event on Bhagavad Gita
To Guru Vyas, we bow our meek head,
Whose mind so vast, and bright wisdom spread.
He wrote the Gita's song so grand,
Showing right life across the land.
To Krishna, praise forever streams,
Who showed true Self, in holy gleams.
He gave to all, a nectar sweet,
The Gita's wisdom, pure and complete.
Krishna, the teacher of the world, so wise,
His words uplift us to the skies.
They lead to freedom, strong and clear,
Removing doubt, calming all fear.
Lord gave essence of Vedas to Arjuna brave,
To act selflessly, and for duty's own sake.
To do one's task, without gain or fame,
Lead selfless life, in a soulful frame.
Arjuna, with his brothers quite dutiful,
Crossed over to the land that was blissful.
With Krishna as their guide, wise and bright,
He led them from worldly gloom to light
From war's dark mud, a lotus grew,
The Gita's flower, fresh and new.
Let this bright bloom be held with care,
Its lessons learned, beyond compare.
It helps in Kali Yuga - times of plight,
To clear the wrong, and find the light.
To reach that peace, beyond all strife,
The Gita guides us to a perfect life.
