Special Days Reimagined: From Purpose to Politically Polished Ceremonies - A poem

A day of thought, now bright and loud,

A deeper meaning, lost in crowd.

A cause once felt, a fight once strong,

Now filtered through a shallow song.

The issue fades, a painted screen,

Engagement sought, where truth has been.

Event it is, a polished show,

The why forgotten, long ago.

We watch and clap, a silent throng,

Where voices raised should right the wrong.

Noise and waste, a choking haze,

Obscure the meaning, in a daze.

No quiet thought, no solemn vow,

Just staged applause, and bending bow.

The spirit lost, in booming sound,

Respect is gone, on sacred ground.

A brand is built, a flag unfurled,

Divisions deepen, in this world.

Hand-waving grand, a fleeting pose,

While true solutions, no one knows.

Let substance rise, above the gleam,

Let action speak, beyond the dream.

Remember why, the day began,

And be a part, of being human.
