Spl on National Reading Day: A sentence acrostic on READING as validation framework of true reading

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had directed the affiliated schools through a circular to celebrate the 26th National Reading Day (June 19), week and month with online reading-related activities and competitions.

Each year, the observance is held to remember PN Panicker the promoter of 'Library Movement in Kerala' and the PN Panicker Foundation (PNPF) organises and coordinates activities in educational institutions and the CBSE has asked the schools to participate the PNPF's on-line activities that include webinars on the importance of reading, digital library intellectual property rights, Covid-19 awareness, and many more.

Unless, the schools are clear about the real meaning of 'reading' as a human cognitive function, all the activities remain passive, superficial and ritualistic.

I feel, that reading is a skill and students and educational functionaries must hone to become proficient readers to enhance their cognitive level and verbal intelligence.

Here is my acrostic on READING to work as the framework for validity and worth of any activity on reading skill.
