It is being suggested that Integrating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) into Physical Education (PE) classes can lead to mindful professionals in sports, sports industry and sports-integrated disciplinary education such as coaching, sports industry, sports medicine, sports psychology, sports event management etc.
ABC's of STEM-integrated Physical Education
A: Active learning approach to classroom processes and practices in physical education that integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) concepts
B: Blending development of cognitive skills that are important in the 21st century, such as scientific inquiry, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem solving linked with institutionalized physical education courses
C: Comprehension of STEM concepts while engaging young children in physical play and adults interested in careers in the field of sports or combining STEM education with kinesthetic intelligence
