Successive drawing's advantages in children's development in inclusive education

The word "successive" means something happening or existing one after another. In successive drawing, beginning with a base structure, successive strokes are drawn to complete the visual.


When used in the classroom, successive drawing has been found helpful in the following ways.


  • It develops fine motor skills


  • It promotes visual analysis through sequence for better cognition

  • It enhances attentiveness

  • It improves coordination skills

  • It enhances visual intelligence

  • It can be integrated with multi-modal learning

  • It introduces pre-number concepts of seriation


It has been found the successive writing of alphabet also provides the above stated benefits along with improving handwriting of children.
