To be free, learn deep and true,

So wisdom's heights you can pursue.

With right knowledge, act each day,

Join God, end birth's repeating way.

A touch of God in all resides,

In every soul, its spirit hides.

We are souls in bodies made,

Matter's mother, God's the seed displayed.

Goodness, passion, darkness deep,

These three traits the soul do keep.

Even goodness, pure and bright,

Binds with joy and worldly light.

Passion, wanting, a desire,

Binds the soul with greedy fire.

Darkness tricks, with no belief,

Lives for senses, finds its grief.

Goodness lifts to heaven's grace,

Passion seeks wealth, darkness sin's embrace.

Yet all three tie us in our place.

Work to tame these three strong ties,

Let your true soul brightly rise.

Even wise ones, calm and grand,

Sattvic ego holds their hand.

Passion acts with selfish aim,

Seeking riches, glory, fame.

One in darkness, lost and deep,

Lives for base urges, fast asleep

Good souls reach a heaven bright,

But return until set right.

Dark souls, lost to deeds so base,

Return to suffer, in a lower place.
