The Palace of Versailles: Collage and haiku

I happened to visit Paris twice. Once, it was during my School Technology Course in the UK in 1977 and then in 1998 during a course at UNESCO's International Institute of Educational Planning in Paris.

The Palace of Versailles - a World Heritage Site - is one of the greatest museums that exhibits the 17th century art of France and artifacts of various kings.

In fact, the Louis XIII's old hunting pavilion was transformed into a palace and extended by his son, Louis XIV, when he installed the Court and government there in 1682. Thereafter, a succession of kings continued to embellish the Palace up until the French Revolution, informs the official website.

Today the Palace contains 2,300 rooms spread over 63,154 square meters with several thousand exhibits.

Here is a collage of the Palace of Versailles (inset) and haiku describing it.
