Reiss, Professor of Science Education, UCL-IOE.

The Findel CASTME Education Award was presented to the entry that displayed an innovative approach to increasing STEM awareness.

The Findel CASTME Protect Our Planet Award was presented to a STEM project which focused on the Sustainable Development Goals such as Climate Change, Responsible Consumption and Clean Water.

The Findel CASTME Community Award was presented to a community project that focused on mothers, fathers, carers and children and/or on raising awareness of STEM in the community

In all, five awards were given this time since two more entries were found of good standard. It is also needs to be mentioned out of five awards, four entrants were from India. Rama Sharma & Beena Mali, Carol Sigh, Dr Lalit Kishore and Dr Bhavesh Pandya from India bagged the awards for 2022. The fifth award went to Gabriel Maanbe of Ghana, Africa.

The Alexander Award, established in 2001 by Mary Alexander Harris, meant to be awarded annually to a woman or group of women who has made a significant contribution to the scientific, technological, engineering or mathematical (STEM) education of girls or women, in situations of scarce resources, was not announced. It was said, "The ASE had several applications for the Alexander Award, and met to consider those received, but it was felt that this year, there was no single application that met the criteria to a satisfactory standard. A careful process of consideration took place and overall, given the circumstances it was felt it was best not to award for 2022. As a result the ASE has decided to improve the communications and application process for future years."
