"When you break the conventional rules of compositional photography - colors, textures and patterns; frames cum depths; leading lines; minimalism; subject placement; symmetry cum balance – selectively and thoughtfully, you can studding pictures that add the elements of mystery and abstractness to your photographs,” said Jaipur based educator and researcher in multiple intelligence , Dr Lalit Kishore, who had been enhancing his own visual intelligence through unconventional use of photography and employing photography as a part of visual research on children with special needs.
Dr Kishore’s work in unconventional photography in 2021 has been noted and acknowledge by visual arts groups such as World of Photography, Art House and STY International Group of Artists (See inset collage).
He recommends the following three ways for break the photographic compositional rules for a beginner: (1) placing the subject at the center of a frame when background’s symmetrical; (2) creating silhouettes when light surrounds the subject in extended darkness; and (3) adding negative space to make the subject less dominant to make settings more descriptive..
