SHORT NOTE

Spiritual engineering refers to a collection of designed, planned, implementable, and manageable practices aimed at consciously or intentionally building and shaping one's inner self, which possesses dormant sacred or divine consciousness potentials such as self-awareness, self-development and self-realisation that transcend the body-senses-mind confine. These practices are intended to scaffold, support and guide the development of a purposeful, meaningful, and cosmically connected life. This process necessitates the deconditioning of a worldly, deluded existence by restraining instinctive gratifications of the body, mind, and senses, followed by reconditioning to achieve personal well-being and a heightened state of consciousness through deep learning and self-directed actions. Ultimately, it involves reconstructing a lifestyle characterized by humility, simplicity, and minimalism, fostering a sustainable inner self with minimal reliance on the external world.

Spiritual engineers, as builders within, actively construct their own purposeful lives while also scaffolding and supporting others in nurturing their inherent spirituality — soulfulness and mindfulness — both within and outside the engineering profession. They apply engineering principles such as safety (does and don'ts, precautions and risk mitigation), functionality, and sustainability, along with process-oriented guidelines that include risk assessment, experimentation, testing, verification, and validation. Additionally, ethical principles such as integrity, responsibility, and a commitment to serving the public interest through a selfless professional life are essential to the engineering field.

When an individual identifies as a spiritual or inner engineer, he or she must first and foremost embrace the overarching general engineering principles of systems engineering and software engineering. This foundation is crucial for developing interdisciplinary, cross-disciplinary, and transdisciplinary courses that effectively address complexity, modularity, abstraction, refinement, and reusability.

A SPIRITUAL ENGINEER'S ANTHEM

I'm an inner Engineer, designs're mine

To build a self, a soul that's truly fine.

No brick and mortar, but thoughts and deeds,

Building meaningful life with good seeds

The body whispers, "Pleasure, grab it now!"

But I must pause, and wisely learn just how

To temper urges, hold them in check tight,

And choose the path that leads to inner light.

The mind it chatters, filled with endless noise,

Demanding answers, seeking childish toys.

I gently guide it, teach it to be still,

To find the quiet strength upon the hill.

My senses beckon, colours bright and bold,

But true contentment isn't bought and sold.

I seek simplicity, a life serene,

Where less is plenty, and the heart is clean.

Humility's the foundation, strong and deep,

Minimalism the walls, secrets to keep.

Sustainability, a shelter safe and sound,

Where inner peace and joy can be found.

Engineering taught me logic, form, and grace,

To solve the problems, find the rightful place.

But now I turn those skills within my soul,

To make me whole, to reach a higher goal.

Mindfulness the level, Soulfulness the plumb,

My work continues, till my journey's come

To that pure state, where inner light can shine,

A masterpiece of self, divinely mine.
