Union Budget 2021-22: A short analysis

Writer's picture: Lalit KishoreLalit Kishore

Blaming Covid-19 for downturn in economy, the paperless union budget for 2021-22 is seemingly based on the precept that privatization, disinvestment, monetization, corporatisation of all sectors is imminent to revive economy.

Goverment has called its budget, transparent, realistic (Yatharth-ka-Ahsas aadharit), pro-people (Jan-Hiteshi) and pro-development (Vikas Vishvas-Parak), while others see that budget is pro-investors to make them richer, make living costlier, and make education and health services costlier.

Here is a rap-style limerick on budget for current fiscal year.

Now, development means private investment

In infrastructure, technology across sectors

Including education and agriculture

Right from service industry to culture

Through monetization and disinvestment
