Watch rare Moon-Venus conjunction happening these days

Updated: Aug 29, 2020

The Moon and the Venus have come together and can be seen in the night sky these days. A rare the Moon-Venus conjunction is visible presently after the Venus has risen to its highest point for 2020. For the coming few days, one can watch the star-gazers’ treat as the Moon and the Venus have their simultaneous ascension in the sky.

Besides gazing at the the Moon-Venus duo with naked eyes, one can enjoy the sight with ordinary binoculars too since the Venus is the brightest celestial body in the sky beside the Sun and the Moon.

However, the sight is accessible throughout the night but the best view is in wee-hours when apparently closer. For the photographers with good cameras and tele-lenses, it would be a great capture with their cameras mounted on tripods to avoid camera shake.

For students, the study on the Venus-Moon conjunction can be topical subject in science, more so in astronomy.

As a photography hobbyist with basic digital camera, I did a bit of of night photography in my colony in Jaipur during late evening walk which shows the Moon-Venus conjunction along with some street photographs as a collage.
