126th Birth Anniversary of Indian Philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti: Thoughts on Truth and Love

Many institutions and spiritual groups are observing the 126th birth anniversary of noted philosopher, thinker, speakers and writer J Krishnamurti (1895-1986) on May 11 this year through dialogues and discussions on his work and life. This morning, I received the message from facebook friend Chutturi Vasuprakash of Vishakhapatanam - an ardent admirer of J Krishnamurti - with a poster (inset picture), and I thought of reproducing my earlier write-up based on his thoughts on 'Love'.

He was of the view that Truth was 'Pathless Land' needed to discovered and rediscovered from moment to moment. He had subscribed for total spiritual freedom - even from scriptures, religious, institutions, gurus and teachers - through unflinching striving for self-awareness individually. He was also viewed as the 'seer who walked alone'.

Here is part of my earlier write-up - Philospher J. krishnamurti says, "We are not simple; we don’t discover anything for ourselves but just repeat what we have been told. Even when we revolt we form new conclusions, which again have to be broken down. We really don’t know what love is, but merely have opinions about it. Is that it?"

In other words, love could happen only when we are capable of freeing ourselves from the process of thinking about love and all the complications that arise out of it, he points out.

MY INSPIRED HAIKU ON LOVE:

Love's liberation

Real love is without ego -

Unconditional

~*~

Love ends otherness

Love unifies one and all

Love makes us divine.
