Squirrels belong to small-size or medium-size rodent family called Sciuridae family. In city parks often small-size ground and tree squirrels can be seen.
squirrels have two main types of communicative signals as follows

However, these signals have different meanings depending on the situation and the ways in which they are used.

In the video shot through door of our house, a squirrel has made a nest in the vine in front of my study. Almost everyday, a squirrel comes out of it nest and make a common ‘chatter call’ to show its presence and announce about its territory.

Predator hunting call, etc.
Spend some time in a park with a few squirrels and listen to different calls they make and try to guess what kind of calls they are making. It will be be a therapeutic experience.
