Deeming Emotional intelligence (EI) separate from Intelligent Quotient (IQ), propounder Daniel Goleman views EI as an ability to perceive,understand, manage, and apply emotions to create to create a positively supportive and a good-feel social environment.


People can educate emotions to enhance their high emotional intelligence by first striving to recognize their own feelings and emotions and then that of others. It has been found that people can be trained to learn to recognize, organize and interpret emotional information to think positively thinking and learn behavior to create pro-social climate for performance.


Goleman says, “The emotional brain responds to an event more quickly than the thinking brain.” According to the noted motivational speaker Deepak Chopra, “Emotional Intelligence grows through perception. Look around at your present situation and observe it through the level of feeling.”

It is held that efforts for the enhancement of emotional intelligence leads to building of positive and supportive social interactions that build mutually equitable relationships or rapport. As Travis Bradberry puts “Emotional intelligence is your ability to recognize and understand emotions in yourself and others, and your ability to use this awareness to manage your behavior and relationships.”
