NOTE
Analogy, functioning as a cognitive scaffolding strategy, can be an effective educational tool by illustrating the similarities between what is the known and what is new. It is capable of rendering highly abstract concepts more relatable and understandable ones by comparing them to familiar ideas. This approach is designed to facilitate the transfer of knowledge from the known to the unknown. Additionally, it can enhance engagement and retention of subject matter. However, it necessitates careful selection and clear explanation of related concepts to prevent misunderstandings.
POEM ON ANALOGY AS LEARNING TOOL
A bridge of thought, analogy's art,
Connects the known to play a vital part.
Abstract ideas, once vague and high,
Now feel like something you can touch, nearby.
From known to unknown, knowledge grows,
Like water onward, softly flows.
It sparks our minds, makes learning fun,
And memories last, till day is done.
But choose with care, this helpful guide,
Explain it well, let truth abide.
Lest twisted paths mislead the way,
And understanding starts to fray.
