Assisted drawing of visual symbols & writing of alphabet promotes cognitive learning for dysgrahic

In an action research on a dysgraphic child of 6-years, it was found the child could get a feel of the the structure, movement skill, better awareness or attentiveness through controlled movement of hand and better memory of vocabulary.

The action research, the child was asked that what should be drawn today and he said that he would like to draw a ‘robot’ and a ‘cat’.

The led to reinforcing the naming the visuals phonetically, spelling and vocabulary of the parts of the visual. The drawing was done in an assisted way with modelling with the instructor holding the chalk stick from behind.

It is the non-art use of art to accommodate the child in his or her sensory and kinesthetic learning via visual intelligence enhancement leading better memory (see and read inset collage).
