Association of Science Education (ASE) Conference[1] for the year 2021 (Jan 6-9) will held for the first as a virtual event in which the the opening addess, closing address and keynote addresses will be delivered as pre-recorded sessions while the prsentations of papers and other activities will taken up in real time in the online format, inform the organizers.
“I have participated in the conference three times as a participant of which two times to receive my CASTME Award. This time, I have won the CASTME-Fidel 2020 award for my community project related to literacy of scientific processes to children of middle school stage through readily available materials . Also, the the award winning project is theme based. The award announcement will be done during the opening session of the the confrence,: says Dr Lalit Kishore, one of three the award recipients, who is based at Disha Foundation in Jaipur, India.
The abstract of the award winning project of Dr Kishore is as follows:
An experimental science self-referenced initiative was undertaken for 10 days at rate of one session of one hour per day followed by one day review work. A study plan for action research was developed with pre-active phase (one weeks, 2 hours a day for identify and proposing ten 12 activities) and interactive phase (two-week transaction of activities and one day review through responses and reactions of students) along with self-reflection and two week post-active phase of writing the report a documents action research for recognition and dissemination. the motivation for the topic came after reading the topic ‘Turn, Twist and Topple’ in Jim Jardine’s book titled ‘Physics is Fun’ Another topic titled ‘Spin, Swirl and Sway’ was created and transacted to which students reacted significantly positive (N=25, grade six, age: 11-12 years; p≤0.01).
