Tape art for the kids makes use masking tape, paper tape or painter's tape to create shapes and patterns on a clean cardboard piece or card sheet. You can use a variety of colour-chalks to fill in the spaces between the tape-pieces.

Masking tapes come in different sizes. However a narrow or a thin tape will be ideal for the kids. Main precaution is to start with a clean surface of a card sheet by remove the dust, dirt and oiliness. Such tapes are available at the stationery shops and DIY shops.

The tape artwork is the beginning of STEAM education since masking tapes being self are easier to apply and they don’t get tangled to provide well lined geometrical shapes. When applying the tape, use short strips of four finger width tape pieces with ends struch inwards.

Here is the procedure for masking the surface in the chosen pattern

Once the skill awareness of paint masking gets created  through tape art at early stages, the skill can work as painting solution in terms of quality, precision, and time optimization in house paining with  proper lining since the paint does not seep through the tape with nonporous adhesive coating.
