The 8th Sikh Guru Har Krishan Sahib's jayanti is being observed on 28 February this year who had become the youngest Guru in Sikhism in the year 1661 at the age of five years.
He contracted smallpox in 1664 and and left his mortal body before reaching his eighth birthday. Thus Guru Har Krishan Sahib had the shortest reign as Guru, lasting only 2 years, 5 months and 24 days, therefore, he is referred as Bal Guru.
He was a a humble keen learner and doer of selfless service. That's why many Sikh schools are often named after him.
Guru Har Krishan Sahib demonstrated astonishing spiritual knowledge and power at Panjokhara in Ambala and later in Delhi at very young age.
Gurudwara Bangla Sahib in Delhi is located at place where the Guru Sahib died and Gurudwara Panjokhra Sahib in Ambala stands testimony his spiritual wisdom at young age.
Guru Har Krishan Sahib had made a mark through his spiritual development and everyday moral conduct at a tender age by imbibing the teachings of the First Guru Shri Guru Nanak Dev Sahib stated as "Truth is the highest virtue, but higher still is truthful living."
The Mul Mantra of Sikhism is as follows:
Ikk ōangkār sat(i)-nām(u) karatā purakh(u) nirabha'u niravair(u) akāl(a) mūrat(i) ajūnī saibhan gur(a) prasād(i).
Meaning: There is only One Supreme Being - the eternal reality, the creator, without fear and devoid of enmity, immortal, never incarnated, self-existent - known by grace through the true Guru.
