Bengalis celebrate Pohela Boishakh and Google wishes Shubho Noboborsho with GIF doodle

On April 15, 2021, the internet search engine giant marked the advent of Bengali New Year, Pohela Boishakh, with a GIF doodle wishing the viewers 'Shubho Noboborsho.'


The festival of Pohela Boishakh got celebrated with singing, worship, temple visitation, performing arts, processions, fairs and family time by the Bengalis across the world cutting the religious lines. Also, special Bengali foods, confectionery and sweets were prepared and by Bengalis among their relatives and friends.


The special prayers were held at homes and places of worship for a prosperous and peaceful year. Further, traders and business people marked the day to start the new account books on this day.



Tagore in his song "Eso Eso He Boishakh" welcomes Boishakh urging it to bestow fresh and pious air and sweep away from mind falsehoods, sorrows, disappointments, and problems leading to sanctification and clarity.
