Bhagavad Gita inspired cosumer of goods and services with minimalist approach lives happily

According to Kurukshetra based spiritual economist, Professor MM Goel, the Need, Affordability and Worth (NAWA) approach of the goods inspired by the Bhagawad Gita provides a rightly balanced mix of spiritualism and materialism.

“For recession in the economy, we have to adopt spiritually guided materialism (SGM) Strategy flowing from sloka number 22 of Chapter 9 of Gita as guru,” opined Former Vice Chancellor M.M. Goel, a known spiritual economist, stated a press release.

While addressing the participants of the 4th International Seminar on Universal Welfare and Eternal Philosophy of Bhagavad Gita at the Senate Hall Kurukshetra University about two years ago on the topic ‘Adoption of Gita Based Spiritually Guided Materialism (SGM) Strategy for Recession in Global Economy '.

To face the challenge of recession with willpower and enthusiasm, we as consumers, producers, distributors and traders need to become street SMART (Simple, Moral, Action Oriented, Responsive and Transparent) administration, explained Professor Goel.

Economy based on SGM strategy does not require predictions (astrological or data based) for survival, existence and excellence without worries of wars as not windblown of recession, believes Prof. Goel.

Economy can be people friendly and socially beneficial only if undertaken in accordance with NAW (Need, Affordability and Worth) approach of the goods and services, told Prof. Goel .

To lift materialistically and spiritually, we have to understand, analyse, interpret and adopt ‘Needonomics’ (economics of needs) which is spiritual, nonviolent and ethical in nature, told Prof. Goel.

We need resources which are certainly limited and required to be spent judiciously confining to needs which falls in the domain of ‘Needonomics’ and is capable of saying no to inward foreign direct investment (FDI) and takes care of the minimum needs of the weaker sections of the society (practising the art of giving with living in minimalism), held out Prof. Goel.

It is believed by Professor Goel that the problems including violence, terrorism, exploitation and corruption of all kinds are caused by ‘Greedonomics’ ( economics of greed) and can be reduced if not removed by ‘Needonomics’.

To give best shape to the economy with attitude of gratitude, we need to be noble Indians as human capital trained with spiritual input based on Gita, a treatise on welfare economics and management as a sacro-secular and 'ism neutral' epic for the entire humanity , said Prof. Goel.
