CBSE announces mandatory Teacher Training Framework to inculcate professionalism among teachers

In pursuit of (NEP) 2020, the CBSE has decided to follow 'the National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST)' in order to create 'benchmarks of quality and accountability in teacher development.' (The Training Unit of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Notifications—TRG-3/2025 and TRG-2/2025, both dated 01 April 2025) 

For this, the affiliated schools have been asked to go for two kinds of mandatory training as a part of the annual Continuous Professional Development (CPD) as follows.

 

·         A 50-hour training per year - 25 hours through CBSE or Government Regional Training

·         A 25-hours in-house or School Complex-based training

 

The 50-hour Training will focus on the following three key professional standards as mentioned in NPST:

 

Core Values and Ethics – 12 hours

• Knowledge and Practice – 24 hours

• Professional Growth and Development – 14 hours

 

The CPD Guidelines issued by the Board also acknowledges the activities that are 

Academically inclined and are contributory duties towards the teaching-learning processes.

Evaluation duties performed by the teachers for Class X and XII Board Examinations, practical examiner’s duty,

Duties related to developmental tasks as of part of the have of CPD hours such as 

·         Research projects

·         Making presentations,

·         Participation in CBSE conferences,

·         Item development,

·         E-content creation

·         CBP development

·         Curriculum review,

·         Viewing DD PM e-VIDYA channel

·         Any other local or in-house training for capacity building
