“Code learning or code literacy is the first step toward effective communication both as part of social learning and designed institutional learning. Owning to cognitive potentials, humans are thinking, feeling, ideating and creative beings. With cognitive development or development of thinking skills, humans enable themselves to decode the communication and its message,” said Jaipur based Dr Lalit Kishore in his on-line presentation of conference by Disha Foundation this year.
He added that appropriately designed communication for children with special needs (CWSN) is the one that was adapted and adjusted or contextually designed and used to help them to get accommodated or included equitably to the physical and social aspects of learning and life.
Dr Kishore stressed the need for preparing special educators for communication with signing & visual codes for educating children with special needs and termed it 'most desirable' action that could lead to individualization of education for them.
