Creating light paintings takes you towards skill of using camera or light as brush

Light painting is a photographic technique of moving the camera as brush or making a systematically moving light source with a long exposure time. Initially, one can work with moving small flashlight available in a dark room to create light drawings or taking long exposure photos of light indicators of cars rushing on the road at night.

Thus, there are three aspects of light painting as follows.

1. Moving source of light as a subject working as a subject of photography such as festival lights, LED hoardings or sign boards, light indicators or illuminated moving other subject to make use of the light at the camera to draw and record the movement

2. Moving the camera itself during exposure of light sources

3. Long exposure time setting of the camera

This type of photography requires experimentation and creative urge. During festival time, the opportunities for such photography abound.

Two photographic examples and a micro-video show the examples.
