Sanskrit Verse
श्रीभगवानुवाच ।
असंशयं महाबाहो मनो दुर्निग्रहं चलम् ।
अभ्यासेन तु कौन्तेय वैराग्येण च गृह्यते ॥6. 35॥
English translation
Lord Krishna said:
O mighty-armed son of Kunti, what you say is correct; the mind is indeed very difficult to restrain. But by practice and detachment (Vairaya), it can be controlled.
Inspired couplets
Deep learn the art, let strict detachment grow,
To watch the shifting tides of life below.
When detachment becomes your nature true,
The fading ego bids the world adieu.
As constant practice sharpens inner sight,
Existential truth shines out in perfect light.
This honed, release will break the heavy chain,
To wake the Self where peace and freedom reign.
In Summary
According to Kishore (2026), the verse 6.35 of the Gita teaches that it is consistent practice (abhyāsa) and detachment (vairāgya) that tame the restless mind. he translates this ancient wisdom into modern metaphors that encourage becoming an objective observer of life rather than an anxious participant.
