Diwali – the festival of lights – falls on November 14 in 2020 amid the COVID crisis. People have been advised not to indulge in public celebrations and not let off crackers.
The most celebrated Hindu festival of Diwali or Deepawali is celebrated on the new moon night of the Hindu Luni-Solar month Kartik to mark the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair, as described in ancient Hindu scriptures, I wrote earlier at U4U Voice.
In its truest sense, the celebration of Diwali refers to the light of spiritual knowledge dispelling all ignorance about our transcendent reality. According to Vedic philosophy, with profound awareness of soul or true-self, humans can overcome darkness of ignorance or egoistic self.
Based upon my reading of some articles, I created a sketch-note on the festival as shown in the inset picture.
HAPPY DIWALI!
Do read the sketch note.
